Blizzard Hacked – Change Passwords
Blizzard Entertainment has been hacked and password security has been compromised. We urge everyone connected to battle.net that covers the games World of Warcraft, Diablo III and Starcraft II to change their passwords and any other passwords that are similar and used in other places.
Blizzard states in this security update on their website that unknown hackers have gotten their hands on a list of email addresses for players outside of China as well as information regarding personal security questions, mobile and dial-in authenticators and cryptographically scrambled versions of Battle.net passwords (not actual passwords) for North American players (this covers North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia). The information should not be enough to gain access to actual passwords, but Blizzard encourages all North American players to change their passwords regardless. And we’d like to extend that here at Huttstuff and encourage everyone. Better safe than sorry.
